14 minutes

Written for and dedicated to Ksenija Komljenović, You, Who Did Well explores themes of immigration, bilingual identity, and the experience of living between countries, languages, and cultures. The work was inspired by a poem written by Ksenija and further developed through original texts by the composer, reflecting on belonging, displacement, and the search for home.

These texts are spoken by Ksenija in both English and Serbian, becoming an integral part of the electronic soundtrack and the musical narrative. Marimba serves as the work’s central voice, while multi-percussion and electronics create a rich, immersive sound world. Rather than resolving the tension between identities and places, the piece embraces the fragile and ever-changing space in between.

The digital edition includes the full score, fixed electronic track, and practice audio files with slower tempos and click tracks to support rehearsal and performance.e does not aim to resolve the tension between places and identities, but rather to remain within that unstable space in-between.
