BARTEK MILER

Bartek Miler, born in 1992 in Paris, is a Polish French versatile musician with expertise as a solo and chamber percussionist, session musician, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, composer, and educator. He conducts workshops and masterclasses at higher music schools and second-degree music schools throughout Poland.

Miler has been recognized as an outstanding soloist and chamber musician in national and international competitions in Poland, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, and France. From 2014 to 2016, he participated in one of the most prestigious solo competitions worldwide, the "ARD International Music Competition" in Munich, and was awarded the "Annelie" prize at the "TROMP International Percussion Competition Eindhoven," recognizing him as the best musical personality of the competition by an external committee.

He is a recipient of scholarships such as the Ministry of Culture's "Young Poland" Scholarship, "Culture Online," "Culture to Go," scholarships from the Mayor of Poznań, and ADAMI in France. Miler has performed as a soloist in venues such as the Schola Cantorum in Paris, the Chamber Hall of NOSPR, and the CK Zamek in Poznań at the "Poznań Musical Spring" festival. He premiered Kacper Smoliński's Double Concerto for Chromatic Harmonica, Marimba, and String Orchestra at the Poznań Philharmonic with the "Amadeus" orchestra conducted by Agnieszka Duczmal for Polish Radio Two.

Miler is repeatedly awarded for promoting percussion art in the country and for his compositional activities, including his involvement in the international project "If Only I..." during the pandemic in June 2020. In 2023, he was honored by the Minister of Culture with the "Meritorious for Polish Culture" badge. He collaborates regularly with outstanding soloists in a unique trio with guitarist Łukasz Kuropaczewski and accordionist Maciej Frąckiewicz. He is also the percussionist for Marek Napiórkowski's quartet project "Hipokamp" and part of Kacper Smoliński's jazz ensemble, recording all percussion parts for his album.

Miler completed his master's studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon, France, in percussion under the guidance of the distinguished international soloist and pedagogue Jean Geoffroy. In September 2021, he earned a Doctor of Arts degree with distinction in percussion. That same year, he was a finalist in the Norblin Foundation's Masterclass program and a laureate and participant in the Zaiks Songwriting Camp for his compositional work.

Since 2022, Miler has been a member of the elite music group "Polish Audio Community" founded by Polish composer Paweł Górniak.

Currently, he teaches classical percussion at the Academy of Music in Poznań, Poland.
