BARTEK MILER

Born in 1992 in Paris. Percussionist – soloist, chamber musician, session musician, multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, composer, and educator.

He conducts workshops and masterclasses at higher music education institutions and secondary music schools across Poland. Bartek Miler has been recognized as a percussionist in both national and international competitions and auditions as an outstanding soloist and chamber musician. He is a laureate of numerous national and international music competitions in Poland, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Greece, and France.

From 2014 to 2016, Bartek Miler was a participant in one of the most prestigious solo competitions in the world, the "ARD International Music Competition" in Munich, and was awarded the "Annelie" prize at the largest percussion competition in the world, the "TROMP International Percussion Competition Eindhoven", granted by an external "youth" jury for the best musical personality of the competition.

Bartek Miler is also a recipient of various scholarship programs, including the Ministry of Culture's "Young Poland" scholarship, "Culture Online", "Culture to Go", scholarships from the President of Poznań, and ADAMI (in France).

He has performed as a soloist and chamber musician in venues such as Schola Cantorum in Paris, the Chamber Hall of NOSPR, CK Zamek in Poznań during the "Poznań Music Spring" festival, and at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing. As a soloist, he premiered Kacper Smoliński's Double Concerto for Chromatic Harmonica, Marimba, and String Orchestra with the Amadeus Chamber Orchestra conducted by Agnieszka Duczmal for Polish Radio. In June 2024, he performed on stage as a soloist on vibraphone alongside world-renowned saxophonist Branford Marsalis at the Philharmonic in Szczecin.

Bartek Miler has been repeatedly awarded for his promotion of percussion art in Poland and for his compositional work, including producing the international project "If Only I..." in June 2020 during the pandemic. In 2023, he was honored by the Minister of Culture with the Honorary Badge "Meritorious for Polish Culture".

He regularly collaborates in a unique trio with outstanding soloists – guitarist Łukasz Kuropaczewski and accordionist Maciej Frąckiewicz. He is also the drummer of Marek Napiórkowski’s quartet in the project "Hipokamp" and is part of the jazz band of Kacper Smoliński, for whom he recorded all percussion parts on his album.

Bartek Miler completed his master’s studies at the National Conservatory of Music in Lyon, France, in the percussion class led by the distinguished international soloist and educator Jean Geoffroy.

In September 2021, he obtained the title of Doctor of Arts (specializing in percussion) with honors. That same year, he was a finalist in the Norblin Foundation's Masterclass program and a laureate and participant of Songwriting Camp Zaiks for his compositional work.

Since 2022, he has been a member of the elite music group "Polish Audio Community" created by Polish composer Paweł Górniak.

Currently, he teaches classical percussion at the Academy of Music in Poznań, Poland.
